Our Farms & Packhouses

Shalimar Fresh Farms have been nurtured from inception, using the natural ecosystem to create optimum conditions for prime horticulture. Our farms are located on or around the equator with the perfect tropical weather conditions and varying altitudes leading to crop security and variety together with consistent quality growing patterns all year round.

Below are our farms:

Located in Naivasha, 140 Kilometres from Nairobi, at an altitude of 1950 Metres above sea level.

The Farm boasts an area of 450 acres, divided respectively into:

  • 82 acres of undercover Roses,
  • 12 acres of Summer Flowers and
  • 200 acres of Hass avocados including organically grown Avocado trees

The farm receives water from Lake Naivasha and Boreholes. Featuring solar power generation, reverse osmosis water purification, recycled water dams and propagation unit and drip irrigation.

Its infrastructure includes: greenhouses, flower and vegetable packhouses fitted with cold storage facilities, staff houses, school and dispensary and employs an average of 1,100 people with 46% being women and about 54% men.

Located in Thika, 55 Kilometres from Nairobi, at an altitude of  1,500 Metres above sea level.

With an area of 155 acres, this farm has:

  • 40 acres of undercover Roses and Chrysanthemums, and
  • 15 acres of open farming of Summer Flowers
  • 5 acres of Avocado

while the rest of the area is occupied by buildings, buffer zones, lagoon, wetlands, furrow land and unproductive sites.

It has solar power generation and gets its water from River Kabuku which originates from the heart of Aberdare ranges through Makindu River.

It has greenhouses, its flower and avocado packhouses are fitted with cold storage facilities, propagation unit, lagoon and a dispensary and the farm uses drip irrigation methods.

The Farm also hosts one of the largest State of art Avocados Processing Facility for the company where all Avocados grown on our farms are processed. The farm employs about 500 people where 45% are women and about 55% men.

Located in Rumuruti, 248 Kilometres from Nairobi, at an altitude of 1800 Metres above sea level.

The farm area covers 450 acres with:

  • 50 acres of undercover Roses and
  • 300 acres of Hass Avocados

It features solar power generation and uses drip irrigation. Water availability stems from Ngare Narok River, Borehole and rainwater harvesting.

Its infrastructure holds greenhouses, a flower packhouse fitted with cold storage facilities, lagoons and a dispensary. This farm employs approximately 550 people with 53% women and about 47% men.

Located in Ol Kalou, 170 Kilometres from Nairobi, at an altitude of 2360 Metres above sea level.

The farm spans 120 Acres with:

  • 50 acres of undercover Roses and Gypsophila

while the rest is occupied by various buildings, buffer zones, lagoon, wetlands, furrow land and unproductive sites.

Featuring roof top  solar power generation, this farm uses drip irrigation and uses water from River Malewa, Borehole and recycled water dams.

It has the following infrastructure: greenhouses, flower packhouse, cold rooms, water dam, staff houses and a dispensary and the farm employs an average of 400 people with 51.5% being women and about 48.5% men.
